More recently, the staff-Interactive Client Behavior Inventory (SCIBI) developed, measuring both interpersonal and intrapersonal staff behavior in response to challenging behavior on the client with ID. The aim of the two studies presented here are the first to confirm the factor structure and internal consistency SCIBI and secondly to demonstrate its convergent validity.
In the first study, a total of 265 support staff members, who work in housing and community services, complete SCIBI to 62 clients with ID and challenging behavior. In the second study, 158 members of staff completing SCIBI to 158 clients, and SASB-INTREX, which NIAS and Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQI). Replication of confirmatory factor analysis of seven factors that produce consistent SCIBI solutions with a high degree of internal consistency.
Also, most of the good convergent validity with SASB-INTREX and enough for a good convergent validity with NIAS and EQI found, except for self-reflective behavior intrapersonal scale of staff. By replicating and extending previous results in SCIBI, it proved to be a valid measure of interpersonal and intrapersonal behavior of reliable and adequate staff working with people with intellectual disabilities.
